A reality series based on 24 groups of aspiring writers, directors, actors and producers who are challenged to develop an original dramatic scene for Hollywood icon Robert Townsend.

Each creative team strives to deliver their best work. Only the most compelling scripts and intriguing scenes will be selected for Robert Townsend presents, Playhouse 22, a Black Family Channel original series debuting this fall. Twenty four groups begin the journey but only seven will make the final cut - but not before braving the waters of creative conflict.
