Music choices are as varied as they come. Some people go for something loud while others would rather opt for something a little easier on the ears. Nevertheless, what most people have in common is the shared appreciation for good music depending on the particular situation. Overhead music, for example, can be the refreshing thing to listen to while having to stay in one place at any given time. It can be for something like waiting for the next ride at the train station or bus stop. In some cases, it can even be due to having to wait in line for customer service to be able to attend to a particular issue. These are all perfect opportunities for playing a nice and relaxing song to ease the waiting time.

One other area where music can be used to make good use of otherwise dull moments would be the time on the phone. Getting in touch with a person on the opposite end of the line may sometimes take a bit of time especially when going through a hotline number. In these cases, the proper choice of on hold music or the entertaining play of helpful menus can be very useful indeed. These things help to avoid instances of dead air during the call. People in general don’t like having to wait for anything if they can help it. But if they have to, they would rather prefer listening to something good as opposed to not hearing anything at all.
