This compelling reality series is based on true life stories from inmates currently doing time in the Detroit, Michigan correctional system. A Dose of Reality bears a strong resemblance to the 1980's television series "Scared Straight" with a touch of "COPS". Inmates share their stories, wrong-doings and felonies in an effort to steer troubled youths from a life of crime and imprisonment.
